For those wishing to improve their climbing ability employing a professional coach is often the fastest way to success. With a vast amount of experience in all areas of rock climbing Steve can identify areas of weakness and structure a programme to push standards to whole new levels.
Fear is often a good thing, alerting us to potential danger, however most rock climbing situations are relatively safe and the movement should be enjoyed uncumbered by performance reducing stresses. Steve focuses on how to differentiate between rational and irrational fear to push to the max.
Steve has been a professional coach for over six years with experience in both one-one and group sessions. Well over 100 individuals have enjoyed his informal and relaxed coaching holidays in locations such as Sardinia, Kalymnos and Spain He has worked extensively with both beginners and high end athletes alike and is currently part of the training team for the British Lead Climbing Squad.
Steve is available for coaching at any level for one-one or one to group sessions, so please contact him if you want to make a booking or have any questions. For structured coaching holidays contact theorangehouse.com or lovetoclimb.co.uk
Steve's fees are £35 per hour or £200 per day, and are based on a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio (ie. It would be £100 each for a full day climbing with Steve for two climbers).
These sessions can take place indoors or on the crag (Indoor Wall entry charge not included if applicable).
For larger groups or master classes Steve can quote a price, but small groups allow Steve to provide the highest level of coaching.
Steve is based in the Peak District, and rates include travel expenses in this area, but he can provide coaching in other areas of the UK or abroad.
Despite relying heavily on his natural talent Steve realised that to reach his peak he would have to train for climbing. With many years of experience and hard graft, working with many of the world’s best performers and in some of the finest training facilities, Steve can identify areas of physical weakness and tailor a training programme to tackle either specific goals or improve standards generally.
